Every year Farm RVTC purchases Aberdeen Angus calves on the advice of our local trading standards officer Mrs carol. Carol who works closely with local farmers is able to deliver to us prime young stock. The calves are used primarily in the training of students in animal welfare, housing and nutrition. Students studying NVQ Animal Health levels 1 & 2 and OCR Environmental and land based Science make up the milk supplement powder and feed it to the calves. This practical activity is photographed or videoed and recorded in the students’ portfolios.
